PDFDrill reads scanned PDFs with OCR, not just digital ones, and runs the same balance check.
For the best result:
- scan at a readable resolution, straight rather than skewed;
- include every page, including the summary page with the opening and closing balance;
- avoid photos taken at an angle or with shadows across the figures.
The balance check matters most on scans. A misread figure changes the total, so unless another error cancels it out, the statement shows FAIL with the difference. You then know something is off and by how much. Compare the rows against the PDF (how to fix it).
